I will be evaluating my Final Major Project; Flight and the processes of how I got from from the word flight to my finished production.

Flight to Me

I felt inspired to also subvert my interpretation and think of ‘flight’ from an emotional perspective. I came across many abstract and unusual types of makeup such as line drawing, this made me think of a more spiritual meaning of flight. Flight in makeup terms to me means the ability to be whoever you want to be, you can create any look and become any person and also to make yourself feel proud and confident with who you are, this is really important to me in my life so this has hugely inspired me. In my production i will be creating a series of magazine covers using the aspects of fashion and makeup, showcasing women showing their strength and power, resembling Flight.

EDITS OF MAGAZINES

These here are my finished magazine covers that i will be submitting as part of my production. I have created a range of styles of magazine covers that i feel proud of, they show  my understanding of different editing software skills, and my creative skills. i wanted to create my magazine covers with an aspect of creativeness which symbolises what my project is for. I used powerful pictures of women being free and that show strength, i then also edited some of them by drawing and doodling over the top in order to create something that is different to most magazines and that would make it more interesting to the audience. Despite trying to create something different I also wanted to make something that is similar to magazines that interest my target audience. I think i succeeded in my production because i have shown a range of my ideas and thoughts from the purpose of my project and put that into my pictures.

I will be analysing the success of two existing fashion magazine covers in order to help me make a good production myself. The two magazines i have chosen are Glamour magazine and also AnOther magazine, these are both fashion magazines.

My final idea

Due to me not liking my lot of photos I decided to change my idea from the literal meaning of the word Flight and decided to think more on spiritual and emotional terms. Taken aback by my revelation to alter my idea I decided I need to further my research by considering more diverse interpretations of the word flight.  I had previously interpreted ‘flight as a physical ability to travel’ as I am abandoning my initial project path I felt inspired to also subvert my interpretation and think of ‘flight’ from an emotional perspective.

Flight Process

After being the brief being given we all started to research into what Flight meant and what it meant to us. I started by researching what Flight could mean, and also different meanings and definitions. I wanted to create a portfolio based project and relate it something to do with fashion and makeup.

Photo Inspiration of 2nd Idea

1st Idea

I took some photos of my model posed on a stall doing some gymnastic poses, so in the edit i can make them look like she is levitating. As you can see the photos are over exposed and i don’t think i can use them in my production.
